Apostle Dr. Elaine Benson is a pastor, author, educator, and apostolic visionary dedicated to awakening believers to Christlike maturity and advancing kingdom transformation. She is the Senior Leader of First Fruits Christian Center in Houston, Texas, and Apostolic Overseer of OJM International, a global ministry network committed to prayer, discipleship, and community impact.
Dr. Benson’s academic journey reflects her dual strength in leadership and theology. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bishop College, a Master’s in Biblical Studies, and a Doctorate in Theology from North Carolina Theological Seminary. As Site President of NCTS Pure Light School of Ministry (Houston), she develops and leads programs in biblical foundations, hermeneutics, preaching, discipleship, evangelism, and apologeticsequipping men and women to serve as fivefold ministry leaders.
She is the author of "Trailblazing with Faith" and "The Little Church That Grew", and founder of Dreamers Arise Publishing, OJMTV, and Elim Leadership & Training Institute, producing resources for both church and marketplace leaders. She released two musical projects that highlights her deep love for the Lord through worship.
Dr. Benson is the visionary behind the First Fruits Life Center, a state-of-the-art facility opening in 2025 to serve youth, seniors, and families across a diverse community. This is the first of two major construction projects, with a new church facility set to begin in 2027.
Her contributions to ministry, education, and community development have been recognized nationally with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

OJM STORY
Pastor Elaine Benson founded OJM International, previously known as Oil of Joy Ministries, as a way to reach out to women of all ages. However, the vision of the ministry has expanded over time, becoming relevant and impactful to men, youth, and young adults as well. From its humble beginnings, numerous ministries have been established throughout various cities and states, all of which remain committed to the original vision.
Now, as OJM International, the ministry aims to provide fellowship, spiritual covering, mentorship, and training/equipping to a body of believers. By teaching biblical principles, providing, knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and prophetic insight, and stirring the ministry gifts of the Holy Spirit, OJM International serves individuals, personal and church ministries. During these challenging times, OJM International operates with a deeper level of love for Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit-led ministry.
